December is a busy month for Christmas markets
The streets are abuzz with activity, with wooden horses on the merry-go-round, chalets stocked with festive items and stalls selling sweets and hot chestnuts. Then it's time for the organisers to cut up the huge logs made by the village bakers and hand them out free of charge to passers-by. For its part, Sarlat-la-Canèda, the pearl of the Périgord Noir, less than an hour from the Moulin du Boisset, welcomes a foreign delegation every year for its Christmas celebrations. This year, it's Spain's turn, and for 15 days the Christmas market and shopping streets will be bustling with activity. Children (and the not-so-young) will be able to enjoy a spot of ice-skating on the ice rink, set amongst the Christmas trees. And Father Christmas is sure to make an appearance. That's the magic of Christmas!
